Dhaka,(Barta24.com): On Tuesday (April23) at the Shipping Ministry meeting room an agreement to build two new terminals of Paira port to be built by 2021 was signed between Paira Port authority and three Korean companies. According to the agreement under the project six berths, minimum two terminals and maintenance of 10.50 deep Channel connecting the port will be constructed. Besides, projects were taken up to build the Paira sea port along with its related facilities.
To implement the project an allocation of Taka 3982 crore 10 lakh was earmarked in the ECNEC meeting. The agreement was signed with Paira Port authority and three companies (joint venture) of Korea. The three companies are Kuna Engineering and Consulting Company LTd., Dayeng Engineering Company Ltd. and Herim Architects and Planners Company Ltd.
The agreement was signed by Port authority chairman Commodore M. Zahangir Alam, Kunha Engineering President Jiang Lanoh, Dayen company director Daye Zinkim and Herim’s country manager Yun Sangho. Shipping Ministry secretary Abdus Samad was present there.
To meet the challenges of the fast growing economy of the country Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Paira port on November 19 of 2013 in Kalapara upazilla of Patuakhali district.
