Bangladesh will not compel the Rohingyas to go till security is ensured

The Rohingyas will not go till their security is ensured in Rakhaine province. Bangladesh will not force them to go there.

The acting foreign secretary Kamrul Ahsan told these after a meeting with the Myanmar delegation members held at state guest house Meghna on Monday (July 29).

The Myanmar delegation consisting of 15 members is led by its foreign secretary Mint Khoye. Kamrul Ahsan told that Myanmar is ready to take back the Rohingyas. However, the decision of returning shall have to be taken by the Rohingyas themselves.

The acting secretary Kamrul Ahsan said that it will not be proper till confidence is created among the Rohingyas. Their life is very much related with their repatriation. None would be pushed back forcibly. On Monday (July 29) a list of 6 thousand families consisting of 25 names of the Rohingyas were handed over to them. But on humanitarian ground Bangladesh will not send them back forcibly.

The foreign secretary of Myanmar Mint Khoye said that this is the best time to return to Rakhaine. We are ready to take them back. But the decision shall have to come from them.

On Sunday (July 28) this high official of Myanmar said that Myanmar is ready to give citizenship to the Rohingyas subject to fulfill of some conditions.

After visiting the Kutupalong Rohingya camp of Ukhia upazilla and holding meeting with the Rohingya leaders told the journalists that we are ready give the Rohingyas citizenship. According to the citizenship law of 1982 of Myanmar every one will be given citizenship. Besides, those who can give proof that their grand fathers, mothers and children were residing in Rakhaine they will be granted citizenship.

Similarly who can show National Verification Cards (NVC),they will be given citizenship.
