Community bank likely to contribute to Bangladesh’s economy

Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Chairman of Community Bank Bangladesh Limited Benazir Ahmed was speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of four branches of Community Bank at Gulshan, Dhanmondi, Chawkbazar and Uttara via video conference from the police headquarters on Tuesday (July 28) at noon.

The IGP said Bangladesh has emerged as a model in the world in many aspects under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. We want community banks to be the best in the banking world at home and abroad. The service of the bank, the treatment of the customers, the technology will be of international standard, so that you can win the trust of the customers.

Our goal is to be the best of the best. We want to expand across the country very quickly. Addressing the bankers, he said, you have to go beyond conventional banking and bring innovative banking. Bring new products for customers, use cutting edge technology. You will lead the banking world, so that others will follow you.

We are a nation that does not give up, the IGP said about the current corona situation. We will continue to fight Covid-19. He said bankers like doctors, nurses, health workers and police are also frontline in the ongoing corona. He wished peace to the souls of those who died of Covid-19 at home and abroad. He also wished speedy recovery to those who are sick.

Later, IGP cut the cake with the board members and other officials of the bank and officially inaugurated the four branches.

Additional IG Dr. Md. Moinur Rahman Chowdhury, Managing Director and CEO of the Bank Mosiul Haque Chowdhury also spoke on the occasion.

In the inaugural function Additional IG of Railway Range Md. Mohsin Hossain, RAB Director General Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, DIG (Finance and Development) Abu Hassan Muhammad Tariq, Dhaka Range DIG Habibur Rahman, Additional DIG (Development) Dr. Shoaib Riaz Alam, Independent Director Kazi Mashiur Rahman and others were present.
