Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against the chief editor of the oldest news portal of the country BD News24.com Towfiq Imrose Khalidi for amassing huge illegal wealth without having any known source of income.
ACC deputy director Gulshan Anowar filed the case on Thursday (July 30) for acquiring illegal wealth to the tune of Taka 42 crore kept in different banks.
It is learned that ACC had earlier in 2019 interrogated New York based LR Managers Investment company chief Reaz Islam. After that BSEC
authority suspended investment of LR Managers' deal subject to producing a valid source of income. ACC smelt some underhand connection of BD News with the said company.
It is mentioned here that in last November ACC summoned Khalidi and grilled him for five hours.
