Ministry of Textile & Jute will monitor the jute purchase of the jute mills owned by Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC).

The ministry has formed 15 teams comprised of the senior officers of the ministry to ensure transparency, purchase of quality jute, to remove the corruptions and irregularities alleged to be held in the various jute purchasing centers of the country. These teams will work to purchase jute directly from the growers at an actual price in the current jute season.

The committees will oversee all the relevant information of the purchase including the rate, quality and also monitor the whole process. The committees will submit weekly reports of the jute purchase centers to the ministry.

If any problem arises at the centers regarding the purchase, the committees will give necessary instructions. If necessary they will inform the ministry.
