The Indian source told the news agency PTI that Bangladesh has informed about the postponement of the meeting and indicated that a new time will be fixed for the meeting soon.

In all, this will be the 55th meeting between the border guards of India and Bangladesh. Apart from the Directors General of the two forces, the meeting is also attended by senior officials from the ministries of home and foreign affairs, the anti-narcotics agency, customs and other executive agencies. The last such meeting was held in Dhaka in March.

A BSF official told PTI that the situation on the Bangladesh-India border is normal after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government. However, field units have been on high alert since August 5.
