The United States has vetoed a draft resolution of the United Nations Security Council on a ceasefire in Gaza.

This information was reported by Pakistani media Dawn in a report on Wednesday (November 20).

The report said that the draft resolution was prepared by the 10 non-permanent members of the Security Council. Where, an unconditional and permanent ceasefire was called for.

Although 14 out of 15 members of the Security Council voted in favor of the resolution, the United States vetoed it.

This is the fifth time that the United States has vetoed a ceasefire resolution in Gaza since the escalation of tensions in the Middle East on October 7 last year.

It is worth noting that the draft resolution had 9 articles. The first of which calls for an immediate and permanent ceasefire by all parties. The resolution calls for the release of all prisoners in Gaza, compliance with international law and the provision of humanitarian assistance to the civilian population.
