Information Minister criticizes foreign diplomats statement on Mushtaq’s death
Information Minister and Joint General Secretary of the Awami League Dr. Hassan Mahmud commented that the statement on writer Mushtaq’s death by the foreigners has violated norms of diplomatic etiquette.
He was responding to a question from reporters on Tuesday (March 2) afternoon after the chief guest's speech at the 2nd anniversary function of the daily Shomoyer Alo at Bir Uttam CR Dutta Road in the capital. State Minister for Information Murad Hasan was present at the time.
In response to questions about the statements of diplomats "I am also saddened at Mushtaq's death," Hassan said. And there has been a committee of inquiry to uncover how this death happened. Only after receiving their report it will be understood how he died. But some foreign ambassadors have made statements that violated diplomatic etiquette. Many human rights violations take place in many of their countries, they also have this law and they are arrested and punished.
Independent and sovereign Bangladesh is now a self-reliant country, we have built the Padma Bridge with our own money, we are not dependent on anyone, so the old habit of making such statements in a hurry should be avoided, the Information Minister said.
In response to the question of whether there is a statement from the United Nations. Hassan said the statement was not issued by the United Nations, but by one of the many commissioners of the UN Human Rights Commission. He was once president of Chile and there have been many human rights abuses since then.
The minister questioned the commission, saying that when extreme human rights were violated in the United States, children were separated from their parents year after year; people were shot and killed indiscriminately in France, and tortured at Guantanamo Bay. So it's our internal affair and I don't think anyone needs to poke their noses at it. This violates diplomatic etiquette.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has also taken the corona vaccine. In response to the comments of the journalists, the Information Minister said that Mirza Fakhrul himself has spread propaganda against the vaccine, tried to spread confusion in the minds of the people that this vaccine will not work but he is now vaccinated. We urge them to be cautious in their criticism so as not to fall into the embarrassing situation of criticizing the government unnecessarily.
Earlier, after cutting the cake as the chief guest on the 2nd anniversary of Dainik Samayer Alo, in a brief discussion, the Information Minister wished the newspaper a prosperous future. He hoped that the role of media would continue in the formation of the state and society as the fourth pillar of the state and that the light of daily times would show the light of hope to the country and the people. In his speech State Minister for Information Dr. Murad Hasan wished for the continuous progress of the newspaper in favor of the war of liberation. Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif took part in the cake-cutting ceremony.
