Tourists on the shores of Jadukata to see the red Shimul flowers
Sunamganj: Feelings of mild cold, gentle breeze, mountains on one side, magical river waves in the middle, and the call of spring on the newly sprouted green leaves, as if Fagun's fire had started in the Shimul garden of Sunamganj. Like every year, red Shimul blossomed in the whole garden.
Joynal Abedin, a nature lover, has left behind the unique Shimul Bagan in Tahirpur, Sunamganj, on the banks of the river Baram, just between the magical river of Tanguar Haor and the river Baram in Meghalaya. Hundreds of tourists from different parts of the country flock here every day to see these red flowers of Shimul garden blossoming in the serene light of Fagun.
Late Joynal Abedin built the country's largest shimul garden to add a little ornament to the bosom of nature. Joynal Abedin’s old habit of planting and caring inspired his gardening. The name of the garden is 'Shimulbagh'. There is no other place in the country with such a large Shimul garden. Manigaon village is situated on the banks of the beautiful Baram river in Uttar Barabadal union. Joynal Abedin's own two and a half thousand acres of land in this village was completely uncultivated. Instead of silt, sand floats upstream. This is a unique example of how to paint a green coating on a huge dune.
Shimul flowers bloom in the garden as soon as the spring season arrives. Hundreds of tourists from different parts of the country flock here every day to see the red shimul flowers blooming at the foot of the Meghalaya hills to quench their thirst.
