Injured by violence in the anti-discrimination student movement, many have been treated at various government and private hospitals in the country. Among them, 2613 people have received treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DHMC). Among them, 172 people died.

DMCH Director Brigadier General Md. Asaduzzaman disclosed this information in a press conference.

On Thursday (August 29) at 12 o'clock in the meeting room of the administrative building of DMCH, the issue of the injured was disclosed in a press conference.

At this time, it is said that many people who came to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment during the anti-discrimination movement have recovered and returned home, many are still receiving treatment.

Md. Asaduzzaman said, at present we have 98 patients in DMCH. We are providing free medical services to these patients. Those who need operation we are buying the equipment ourselves, they don't have to buy it. 7 people lost their eyes, 2 hands and feet were amputated. Besides, 70 people have got very bad injuries in one eye. The majority of eye injuries are palette injuries.

In response to the question of how many unclaimed bodies have arrived, the Director said that many bodies have actually arrived. Many died in the hospital. Our job is to hand over the body to the police if there is a police case after the death. Only the police can tell how many bodies are left behind.

He said that there is a fund for the injured, besides many people are coming to help. I am listing instructions so that everyone gets help.
