Geneva Camp drug lord Bunia Sohel arrested
RAB has arrested Bunia Sohel, the top drug dealer of Geneva Camp in Mohammadpur. There are 18 cases of kidnapping, extortion and drug related cases including 3 murder cases in Mohammadpur Police Station against Sohel.
A source in RAB confirmed that he was arrested from Sylhet on Thursday (October 31).
The source said that Bunia Sohel and his two associates were arrested from Sylhet and are being brought to Dhaka.
Bunia Sohel is the son of Abdus Salam of Sector 7 of Geneva Camp. He has been introducing gang culture in the camp for a long time. For some time now, there has been a conflict between the two groups, 'Chua Selim' and 'Bunia Sohel', over drugs and dominance. After the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, both sides looted a lot of weapons and ammunition from Mohammadpur and Adabor police stations and brought them to the camp. In recent clashes, both sides have been seen using these weapons. Five people have been killed in the two months of fighting, and more than a hundred have been injured.
