JnU students are protesting for three points, including the demand to hand over the work of the second campus to the army and inclusion in the UGC pilot project.

AKM Rakib, the organizer of the protesting group, said, "We will submit a memorandum to the ministry today. We will also give three working days' time." The three demands of the students are - the corrupt project director appointed during the dictatorship should be brought under the law and a skilled army officer should be appointed as the project director within 7 days, the Ministry of Education should announce that the work of the 2nd campus has been handed over to the army and a clear outline should be given about the process of handover (on a priority basis), immediate measures should be taken to acquire the remaining 11 acres of land and all the illegal agreements made during the dictatorship regarding the old campus should be canceled.

Earlier, on November 7, the UGC proposed to amend the Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation (HEAT) project to ensure funding for providing uninterrupted high-speed broadband connections to the university's residential halls and providing scholarship facilities to indigent meritorious students. As part of this proposal, Dhaka University has been considered as a pilot project.

University student Tausib Mahmud Sohan, the spokesperson of the movement, said, "We will give a three-day ultimatum to the Ministry of Education regarding our demands." And the HEAT project must be written by today, giving priority to Jagannath University.
