Commenting that madness is being created using religion, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, "I don't want to see religious madness in Bangladesh."

He said this as the chief guest at a discussion titled 'The Fall of Autocracy, Democratic Movement and Role of the Medical Society in State Formation' on the occasion of Martyr Dr. Milon Dibas 2024 at the National Press Club on Wednesday (November 27) afternoon. Mirza Fakhrul said, "For the past few days, we have been very worried, terribly worried. Can you imagine if madness has started using religion? Can you imagine that the office of the free and independent media that I have fought for so long is being burned? I don't want to see this Bangladesh at least."

Mirza Fakhrul said, "There are some people on social media who are writing these words like 'Burn it, burn it.' Are you wondering where they are taking Bangladesh?

Addressing social media influencers, he said, "Unfortunately, some people consider themselves very popular, the most patriotic. They are dividing the entire nation and pushing it towards darkness. Will you think today, are those who are pushing towards division actually our enemies or allies?"

He also said, "No matter how much we talk big, no matter how much we try to unite the world, if there is division in my own house, I will never be able to fix that."

Addressing the interim government, the BNP Secretary General said, "This government is not at the mercy of anyone. This government has been formed on the blood of students and the public. I think it is good that this government is moving towards the main goal of a democratic state. And do not say anything that will create confusion among the people."
