Commenting that he wants to have faith in the police, Sarjis Alam, General Secretary of the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation, said that Bangladesh has about 250,000 police. If they work properly, half of Bangladesh will automatically be reformed.

He made these remarks at a program called 'Bangladesh next to the martyrs', a financial assistance program for the families of those killed and injured in the student-public uprising in July-August, organized by the Shaheed July Smriti Foundation, at the hall of the Chattogram Primary Teachers Institute in the Fisherighat area of the city on Saturday (December 7) afternoon.

Sarjis Alam said that in the new Bangladesh, the names of murderers are still mentioned. They are exonerated in various ways. Their political rights are talked about. The murderers are pathological killers. That killer came from the Sheikh family of Gopalganj. This killer has killed the people of Bangladesh in various ways in the past 16 years. But they have not come to the fore until now because they have held the entire Bangladesh, including the media, hostage.

Addressing the police, he said, "This murderer has used an institution like the Bangladesh Police like an animal and killed the people of Bangladesh like a beast. Seeing your clothes still creates fear in us. It still creates hatred in our minds. Only the murderer Hasina is responsible for this and your personality is responsible. You have supported various evil deeds across the country by wearing the clothes out of greed for power and position." Sarjis also said that if the Bangladesh Army wanted to, it could have killed 10,000 people on August 5 and put Hasina in power. But they did not do that. They thought about the honor of their institution. "The murderers are coming back anew, writing new stories, and we are ready to take to the streets a second time to give our lives against those who want to rehabilitate them. Just as we were ready to give our lives together before August 5, we are ready to give our lives together again to ensure justice for the murderers and foil all conspiracies. We have learned to give our lives from our place." There will be no place for any brokers or flatterers in this Bangladesh.’

He said, those who are still talking about the families of martyrs and the movement are the pests left behind by Sheikh Hasina, which she has nurtured for so many years. If these pests grow wings, they will pounce on the families of martyrs after 5 years from today. Therefore, we must be aware that the murderers do not get a chance to be rehabilitated in any way. We are ready to risk our lives again if necessary.

Stating that financial assistance can never fulfill the needs of the family, the General Secretary of the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation said, we are mentally traumatized to see the tears of countless people, including parents who have lost their sons, children who have lost their fathers, and wives who have lost their husbands, day after day.

Chattogram Divisional Commissioner Dr. Md. Ziauddin, Superintendent of Police Raihan Uddin Khan, Central Coordinator of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Abdul Quader, Russell Ahmed, Khan Talat Mahmud Rafi and Chief Executive Officer of Shaheed July Smriti Foundation Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdha and member Dr. Tasnim Zara.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Kamruzzaman, Divisional Director (Health) Aung Sui Pru Marma, Additional DIG of Chattogram Range Sanjay Sarkar and District Civil Surgeon Dr. Jahangir Alam were present.

It is worth noting that under this assistance program titled 'Bangladesh by the Martyrs' Family' initiated by the 'July Shaheed Smriti Foundation', checks of Tk. 5 lakh each were handed over to 105 families out of 152 families in Chattogram Division. The remaining families will be given checks after receiving the necessary documents, the concerned said.
