The sound of chirping is everywhere. Birds are flying in flocks. Some birds are again taking a bath with their heads bowed. This is a beautiful sight to behold. Like every year, this year too, Jambara Dighi in Madhyam Jahanpur village of Feni's Sharshadi Union is filled with the chirping of guest birds.

The entire village is now filled with the chirping of these birds, who have come in flocks from the icy cold country after traveling thousands of miles. The villagers are also taking utmost care of the guests. Bird lovers come from far and wide to catch a glimpse of this sight. Although the number of pankauri is less among the guest birds, the number of small wagtails and sandpipers is high.

When you go to the ground, you can see the birds playing water games, chirping, and sometimes flying in flocks in an aesthetic exercise, spreading their wings in the blue sky. Far from being bored, the villagers have taken utmost care of the guests. They are protecting them from hunting.

It is known that this migration area of migratory birds such as pankauri, sand duck, rangay peacock, and small sarali begins from the end of December. These guest birds coming from the cold region have established a nest in this pond as they are assured of a favorable environment and necessary food. Bird lovers say that about 10 species of guest birds have arrived in this pond this time. These birds stay in the pond from the end of December to February.

While the villagers do all their daily chores including bathing on one side of the pond, the birds have built their own kingdom on the other side. Hundreds of people come every day, but this does not bother the guest birds.

Local residents said that they have been seeing such arrival of birds in this pond since childhood. On the other hand, visitors who come to see the guest birds are also happy to hear such chirping sounds.

Local resident Abdul Wahab said, we have been seeing these birds coming to Jambara Dighi since childhood. They stay here in the winter season. They fly in flocks, which further enhances the beauty of our village.

Yakub Nabi, a sixty-year-old from Madhyam Jahanpur village, said, we, the villagers, do all our daily chores including bathing on one side of the pond. On the other side, the birds can build their kingdom.

Nur Uddin, a young man from the same village, said, everyone, including the youth of the village, is vigilant about the safety of the birds. Visitors are told not to disturb the birds.

Since it is next to the Dhaka-Chattagram highway, bird lovers come from far and wide to enjoy the beauty of the birds coming to this pond.

Hafiz Al Asad, Additional Tax Commissioner of the National Board of Revenue, said, "We already knew about the pond. It is quite fascinating to see the birds here. The locals here also take care of the birds. They feed them, no one bothers them. Such a scene is not seen often now. So I rushed from afar to see the birds."

A visitor named Mushfiq Hasan said, "We already know that the birds come here. That is why I came to see them with my parents. The chirping of birds cannot be heard in the hustle and bustle of the city. I enjoyed the guest birds very much when I came here."

On the other hand, Deputy Police Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Md. Jasim Uddin is happy with the arrival of birds in his area. He has arranged food in the pond to provide hospitality to the birds. He has arranged a specific place for visitors to watch the birds.

Regarding the birds, he said, guest birds from different countries come to this Jambara pond in Madhyam Jahanpur. The locals are vigilant to ensure that no outsider or anyone else can hunt or disturb the birds. In addition, billboards have been festooned for awareness and there is a committee of locals who feed the birds and take care of them. A place has been arranged for outside visitors to watch the birds. Arrangements are also being made from the district administration to provide food. This is the tradition of Feni, we are working to protect it.

The distance from Feni city to Jambara Dighi in Madhyam Jahanpur village of Sharshadi Union, west of the Dhaka-Chittagong highway, is 7 kilometers by road. From Medina Bus Stand on the city's trunk road to Jambara Dighi, the fare per person is 20 taka. The fare for a reserve is 20 taka. Also, this dighi can be reached from Feni Mahipal under the Fatehpur flyover.

Recently, due to various programs including rallies, sit-in strikes, human chains, pen- breaks and other programs by some government employees of different ranks, the image of government employees is being tarnished. Therefore, the Ministry of Public Administration has said that the government's stance on undisciplined behavior of employees is very strict.

On Tuesday (December 31), the ministry issued this warning in a notification titled 'Regarding proper compliance with the Government Employees (Conduct) Rules, 1979 and Rule No. 30A of the Government, 1979, and other related laws and rules in the interest of maintaining discipline at all levels of the government'.

It is said that government employees play an important role in providing public services and managing the administrative activities of the state smoothly. The success of public administration depends on the disciplined, responsible and professional behavior of government employees. Recently, the image of government employees is being tarnished due to various programs including rallies, sit-in strikes, human chains, pen breaks and other demands of some government employees of different ranks.

Recently, it has been observed that statements with adverse comments are being published on various social media platforms on the issues under consideration before the implementation of some government decisions, orders or reform programs is completed, which is against the Government Employees (Conduct) Rules, 1979.

Rule 30A of the Government Employees (Conduct) Rules, 1979 states that no government employee- (a) shall raise objections in public or obstruct in any way the execution of any decision or order of the government or the authority, or shall incite or induce any other person to do so.

(b) Shall not publicly express any dissatisfaction or resentment against any decision or order of the Government or any authority or induce others to do so or participate in any movement or induce others to participate.

(c) Shall not exercise undue influence or pressure to change, alter, amend or cancel any decision or order of the Government or any authority.

(d) Shall not in any way create dissatisfaction, misunderstanding or hostility among Government servants or among any class of Government servants or induce others or take any initiative to create it.

Violation of any provision of the Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 1979 shall be considered as misconduct under the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 2018. If a Government servant violates any provision of these rules, he shall be liable to disciplinary action for misconduct. The Government's position regarding undisciplined behavior of Government servants is very strict.

Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has urged Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) soldiers to be ready to protect the border even if it means sacrificing their lives if necessary.

He made this appeal to the new soldiers as the chief guest at a program organized at the Border Guard Training Center and College, a traditional training institution of the BGB located in Baitul Izzat, Satkania, Chattogram on Tuesday (December 31).

The Home Affairs Adviser said, “You will sacrifice your lives if necessary to protect the motherland; yet, you will not let even an inch of the country’s soil be lost. I want to believe that you will not disappoint us. Know that the flawless security you provide will ensure the uninterrupted sleep of the people of the country. You will be the symbol of the security and trust of our border.”

He said, Border Guard Bangladesh has become a well-organized, smart, disciplined and professional patriotic force today. Known as the vigilant guards of the border, this force has been fulfilling the great responsibility of securing the 4,427-kilometer-long border of Bangladesh and providing security to border land and resources with great determination and success.

He further said, all members of the BGB have been showing their expertise in suppressing any kind of border crime including smuggling, women and child trafficking at the border. Not only that, but with the help of the civil administration, Border Guard Bangladesh has been able to earn the trust of the entire country by performing its duties with great trust and reputation. For this, I express my sincere thanks and congratulations to all the members of this force, starting from the Director General.

Out of our 7 brave heroes in the great liberation war, 2 ‘Bir Shresthas made this force proud through their unparalleled courage and self-sacrifice. Besides, our Liberation War is glorious in the heroic stories of 8 'Bir Uttam', 32 Bir Bikram, 78 Bir Pratik and 817 brave martyrs as members of this force. The glorious role of this force in the Liberation War will forever be immortalized in the history of Bangladesh.

In the anti-discrimination student movement organized in July-August, the members of Border Guard Bangladesh set a rare example by expressing solidarity and solidarity with the demands of the students and the public. BGB Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, senior military and civilian officials from Dhaka, Chattogram and Cox's Bazar regions, and senior officials of the local military and civilian administration were present at the event.

There have been allegations of an attack on a convoy of 'March for Unity' carrying students in Mollahat, Bagerhat. The entire area turned into a battleground in clashes. At least 20 people were injured in the incident.

The incident took place in the Mollahat Madrasaghat area on Tuesday (December 31) morning.

It is learned that 25 buses carrying students from Khulna metropolis left for Dhaka. When they reached the Mollahat Madrasaghat area of Bagerhat, local terrorists pelted bricks and stones at the vehicles and stopped the vehicles and beat up some of them. Later, when the students resisted, the entire area instantly turned into a battleground. Twenty people have been reported injured in the hour-long clashes so far.

At least 3 students were seriously injured. The police and the army are working to control the situation. Traffic was closed for about two hours in the Madrasaghat area of the Khulna-Mawa highway. This morning, 25 buses carrying students left Khulna city for Dhaka.
