Earlier, on Monday (December 30) night at the central office of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Arif Sohel, member secretary of the organization, said that the new Bangladesh has emerged in a historical backdrop based on the public aspiration that emerged through the spontaneous participation of the students and the public in the mass uprising in July-August, namely the promise of abolishing the fascist system and establishing a new political settlement. The 'July Declaration' was essential as a document of public aspiration and recognition of the sacrifice of thousands of martyrs and injured fighters. The historical responsibility for formulating this declaration lies with the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, the organization leading the July Mass Uprising. Despite various adversities, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement took the responsibility of formulating and announcing this historical declaration on behalf of the students and the public of Bangladesh.

Arif Sohel said, in continuation of our initiative, there has been a spontaneous and positive response among the students and the general public of Bangladesh. In this situation, at the call of the students and the public, an initiative has been taken from the state level to formulate the July Declaration based on national consensus. The students and the public are applauding this timely initiative.

He further said, in continuation of this, the 'March for Unity' program has been announced at the Central Shaheed Minar on Tuesday, December 31 at 3 pm. Our sincere appeal to the general public of Bangladesh - you will spontaneously participate in the 'March for Unity' program by maintaining the continuity of the enthusiasm with which you have organized.

Hasnat Abdullah, convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, and Sarjis Alam, coordinator, were present at the press conference.
