Police constable murder: case against 164 people including Mirza Fakhrul

A case has been registered against 164 people with the party's secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as the main accused in the incident of the death of a police constable in a clash with the police at the Naya Paltan of the capital on Saturday.

BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas, Ameer Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury and Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi are also named in this case.

Sub-Inspector (SI) of Police Masuk Miah filed this case as a plaintiff at the capital's Paltan Model Police Station on Sunday (October 29).

Constable Aminul Parvez was attacked at Fakirapul four road intersection in the capital during the clashes between BNP and law enforcement forces around the mass rally in Nayapaltan on Saturday. The doctor declared him dead when he was taken to the hospital.

Police have arrested two people including a Jubo Dal leader in the case.

Meanwhile, the court rejected BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's bail plea in the case of vandalism at the Chief Justice's residence and sent him to jail.
