JP leaders met with the Prime Minister
Jatiya Party (JP) Chief Adviser Roshan Ershad and party chairman GM Quader along with 16 members of parliament met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
They met at the Prime Minister's office at the Parliament Secretariat on Wednesday (November 1) evening.
The leaders of the party termed the meeting of the MPs of JP with the Prime Minister as a 'courtesy meeting'. They said that important issues like elections were not discussed during that short meeting.
JP presidium member Fakhrul Imam said, "The 11th national parliament is coming to an end. On this occasion, we had a courtesy meeting with the Prime Minister. The purpose of this meeting was to say ‘hello’.
When asked whether there was any talk about the election, he said, 'We stayed for three to four minutes. There was no talk about the election. There were more people. There was no proper environment to discuss such important issues.
Earlier, the British High Commissioner appointed in Dhaka, Sarah Cook, met the Jatiya Party leaders on Wednesday evening to discuss the upcoming national elections. The British High Commission in Dhaka gave a post on social media X (formerly Twitter) about the matter.
According to the interview, the High Commissioner met the Jatiya Party leaders in the evening to discuss the upcoming national elections. The UK calls on all stakeholders to work together to create an environment for free, fair, participatory and peaceful elections.
