The 48-hour blockade begins in the fifth phase

BNP-Jamaat and like-minded parties enforced the 48-hour blockade on the 5th phase has begun immediately after 6 am. After a one-day break, the blockade will continue till 6 am on Friday.

The blockade program of the fifth phase started from 6 am on Wednesday (November 15). Like-minded parties are also holding programs supporting the movement of BNP-Jamaat to demand the resignation of the government.

As a result of the blockade, the situation in the whole country including the capital came to a standstill. Meanwhile, the EC is planning to announce the schedule this evening. BNP and like-minded parties have expressed anger and caution over such a decision of the EC.

On the other hand, the owners' association rejected the blockade and kept the traffic running from the beginning. However, even though the traffic is running, long-distance vehicles have reduced due to insufficient passengers and security concerns.

Since the gathering of various political parties including BNP in Dhaka on October 28 till November 14, 158 incidents of arson have occurred across the country. Most of these fires have been set in Dhaka City. An average of 5 buses a day have been burnt in these few days.

This information has been informed in a notification sent by the Department of Fire Service and Civil Defense on Tuesday (November 14) at noon.

A total of 100 buses, three microbuses, two private cars, eight motorcycles, 13 trucks, eight covered vans, one ambulance, two pickups, two CNG, one Nasiman, one Laguna, one fire service water truck, one police car, BNP party office were involved in these fires. Five, Awami League party office one, police box one, councilor office one, electricity office two, bus counter one and two showrooms were burnt.

On October 28 in the capital, a large-scale clash took place between the police and BNP activists around the BNP rally. A policeman was killed. The next day, on October 29, BNP held a strike. After that, the 7-day blockade program ended in three phases on November 10 at 6 am. In the fourth phase, the party held a blockade program on roads, railways and waterways from 6 am on November 12 to 6 am on November 14.
