Dr. Yunus is our nominee: Mirza Fakhrul
Nobel Peace Prize winning economist Dr. Muhammad Yunus to take over as the head of interim government was the nominee of BNP as claimed by Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
He said, Dr. Muhammad Yunus is the chosen one of the students, to whom we have given this responsibility on behalf of the entire nation. He will perform this duty. We are very hopeful that the crisis will be resolved under his successful, capable leadership.
Thursday (August 8) at noon Mirza Fakhrul said these things to the journalists after Dr. Yunus returned home.
BNP Secretary General said, the root of the problem is the lack of democracy. Bringing back that democracy is one of his (Dr. Muhammad Yunus) main tasks. The faster he can bring back democracy, the more success he can achieve.
Fakhrul said that the first thing is to establish law and order. Final action should be taken for that. The second is that there should be a return to the democratic government through early elections. The third is that all measures must be taken to keep the economy running.
