Attempts to divide society for communal riots: Fakhrul
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the conspirators have tried to divide the society with the aim of communal riots. They are also desperate in trying to create division among all the victorious powers and the people. The property and religious shrines of citizens of Hindu, Buddhist and Christian communities have been specifically targeted.
He said these things in a statement sent to the media on Friday (August 9).
BNP Secretary General said that we have learned from various reliable sources that the fallen dictatorship and its henchmen have planned to take revenge on the interim government and the victorious students. At the same time, social media is widely used to put the responsibility of these heinous crimes on all democratic political forces including the BNP. A certain segment is using social media platforms, especially some news channels of a neighboring country.
Stating that strict organizational and legal measures will be taken against those who will be involved in inactivity using the name of the party, he said, feeling the depth of the situation and the environment, I want to alert all the relevant domestic and foreign supporting forces, including the countrymen, about this conspiracy of the fallen dictatorship and its henchmen.
