Is Shakib going on India tour will be known on Tuesday
Whether Shakib Al Hasan will go on next India tour would be know on Tuesday afternoon, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director Akram Khan told media after a closed door meeting with board president, coaches and some players on Monday evening.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papan has sat in a closed door meeting with coaching staff and few cricketers in the late afternoon, shortly before practice Match to played in the evening on Monday ahead of Bangladesh national cricket team's upcoming India tour.
Mushfiqur Rahim, Taizul Islam, Mustafizur Rahman and Liton Das were among the players along with Head coach Russell Domingo and spin coach Daniel Vottori attended the meeting with BCB president, amid speculation that Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan might withdraw him from the tour after specialist opener Tamim Iqbal that BCB president Papan himself has indicated to the media earlier in the day.
Shakib did not attend first day of practice sessions ahead of the tour to India. Nor he came to play the practice match in the next day.
BCB has sent a legal notice against Shakib signing a contract with Grameenphone recently for violating the rules.
The contracts was signed during the strike of the cricketers in demand of their 11-point which later BCB accepted.
BCB president said Sakib would not be spared for the violation of the rule, however, Sakib has been asked to give explanation for the contract he signed with GP.
According to the rule, cricketers personally can't sign contract with telecom companies.
Earlier, Tamim and Mushfiq had to forego such contract with a telecom company for this rule.
