Clash in Rohingya camp: four dead

Four people have been killed in clashes between two groups at the Kutupalong Rohingya camp in Ukhia, Cox's Bazar, over internal strife and domination.

The incident took place at Kutupalong Camp-1 around 8 pm on Tuesday (October 6).

It has been reported that clashes and shootings have been going on for the last few days between the new and old Rohingyas in the Kutupalong camp due to internal strife and spread of domination. As a result, three Rohingyas were killed on October 4 and 5.

Additional Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner Samsuddauja said two groups of Rohingyas clashed at Kutupalong Camp-1 on Tuesday evening over dominance. Clashes are still raging between the two sides. However, it is not yet known how many people were killed in the incident. Army, RAB, police and APBN members are working to control the situation at the spot.

Additional Superintendent of Police Rafiqul Islam said 4 bodies have been recovered so far. Throat slit body of one person and bullet-riddled bodies of three others have been recovered. An Ansar member was also injured in the incident. The clash is still going on.
