The month of Poush has not yet arrived. However, winter has begun to settle in the northern districts. For several days, the temperature in the northern districts of the country has been fluctuating between 12-18 degrees from midnight to dawn. The incidence of winter will increase further in the week at the beginning of Poush.

The first cold spell of the season may pass over different parts of the country on December 17 and 18 of this month. This information was given by the Meteorological Department on Friday (December 11).

Meteorologist at the Meteorological Department Omar Farooq said the first cold spell could hit the country by December 17-18. At first, the cold wave will be felt in the northern part of the country. Later, cold wave will be felt across the country. Even if there is a cold wave in the north, its effect will bring down the temperature across the country. Temperatures in the north could drop below 10 degrees Celsius during the cold snap.

The current foggy weather could last two more days. Meteorologist Omar Farooq also said that there may be light rain in some parts of the country before the onset of cold wave.

Meanwhile, the weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 6 pm on Friday said that the weather across the country may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy skies. However, there is a possibility of light / drizzle in one or two places of Rangpur division. There may be moderate to heavy fog across the country from night to noon and it may continue somewhere in the afternoon.
