Three motorcyclists were killed as a truck ran over the motorcycle in Rosulpur area under Muktagachha upazila of Mymensingh on Tuesday night.
The deceased were identified as Selim Mia, 21, son of Abdur Rashid, Sabuj Mia, 20, son of Abul Kashem and Antor Mia, 19, son of Lal Mia of Charipara village of Ghuga union under the upazila.
Muktagachha police station officer-in-charge Dulal Akand said the killer truck was going to Mymensingh from Tangail around 9:00 pm. On the way it ran over a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction leaving motorcycle driver Selim dead on the spot.
Two other motorcyclists were rushed to Muktagachha upazila health complex and Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in critical condition where they succumbed to their injuries in the night.
Driver of the killer truck was detained and the truck also seized, said the police officer.
