On Tuesday (September 28), Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's 75th birthday, the vaccination campaign has set a target of 75 lakh doses of vaccine in a single day. However, for this they have to be registered first.
Director General of the Health Directorate Abul Basar Mohammad Khurshid Alam said this on Monday (September 27). He also said that priority will be given to those in their forties, women and the disabled.
The day-long campaign will be conducted in all city corporations, municipalities, upazilas and unions across the country which will start from 9 am. Necessary equipment has been delivered to all the centers across the country to implement the program, the health directorate said.
The director general of the health directorate said those who will take the first dose on Tuesday (September 28) would be given a second dose on October 28. Everyone must bring their national identity card and vaccination card to get vaccinated. The program will continue until the target is met. Vaccination will be given in multiple shifts if required. In addition to this, regular running programs will also continue.
However, he said breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women would not be included in the campaign.
