The President said this on Wednesday (September 29) evening, while a delegation led by VC of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Prof. Md. Sharfuddin Ahmed visited Bangabhavan.
He called upon the Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) to promote international standards in medicine, education and research.
President Hamid praised the role of BSMMU in tackling Corona and thanked all concerned including doctors and nurses.
The President said that this university should be transformed into a place of maximum trust and comfort in diagnosing diseases, providing medical services and treating patients and research.
The delegation led by VC Prof. Sharfuddin Ahmed also included Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. AKM Mosharraf Hossain, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Chhayef Uddin Ahmed and Director (Hospital) Brigadier General Nazrul Islam Khan.
At the time, Secretary to the President's Office Sampad Barua, Military Secretary Major General SM Salauddin Islam and Secretary (attachment) Wahidul Islam Khan were present.
