Bangladesh Bank has canceled the recruitment test of five integrated banks held on last November 6 due to evidence of leaked questions.

Humayun Kabir, a member of the Bankers' Selection Committee and Executive Director of the Central Bank, confirmed the matter.

He said the Central Bank had decided to cancel the examination of the banks included in the Bankers' Selection Committee under Ahsanullah University on November 6. The decision was taken on Thursday evening.

The preliminary examination for the appointment of officers (cash) in five state-owned banks was held in the afternoon of November 6 in different centers of the capital under the Bankers Selection Committee of Bangladesh Bank. 1 lakh 16 thousand 427 job seekers took part in this examination against 1 thousand 511 posts.

Of these, Sonali Bank has 183 posts, Janata Bank has 517 posts, Agrani Bank has 500 posts, Rupali Bank has 5 posts and Bangladesh Development Bank has 7 posts.

It was alleged that the question papers were leaked immediately after the examination. Multiple job seekers claimed that the answer sheets printed during the exam were available on Facebook.

The next day, a group of job seekers handed over a memorandum to Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir demanding cancellation of the test.

In the memorandum, the examinees said that the combined examination of five banks held on November 6 under the management of Bangladesh Bank was conducted through irregularities and mismanagement. The answers to the test questions were found on social media before the test started.

Candidates further complained that they were allowed to sit for the test even after the end of the test period at various centers. There were few observers in the examination and it was too late for the examination question papers to reach the center.

Apart from this the examinees mentioned in the memorandum that there were various mismanagement and extreme irregularities in holding the test. They demanded cancellation of the allegation riddled test and  hold a new test soon.
