Omicron: 15- point directive discouraging public gatherings

The Directorate of Health has issued a 15-point directive to discourage public gatherings, including social, religious and political, to prevent the spread of a new variant of the coronavirus Omicron.

The Directorate of Health issued the directive on Tuesday (January 4).

The guidelines call for limiting the presence of people in tourist and recreation centers, community centers and restaurants to less than half the capacity.

Earlier, Health Minister Zahid Malek told reporters at the Secretariat that instructions were coming soon to prevent the spread of the disease.

The directives are-

>> Health check-up and screening of passengers coming from Omicron affected countries should be intensified in the all ports of the country.

>> All kinds of social, political, religious gatherings should be discouraged.

>> Always cover your nose and mouth properly outside the house and make sure to follow all the hygiene rules including wearing a mask.

>> Half or less of the capacity of the restaurant can sit and eat.

>> All types of public gatherings, tourist spots, recreation centers, resorts, community centers, cinema halls / theater halls and social events (weddings, weddings, birthdays, picnics, parties, etc.) can be attended by half or less people.

>> All places of worship including mosques need to ensure other hygiene including wearing of masks.

>> Hygiene must be ensured in public transport.

>> Passengers from the affected country must ensure 14 days quarantine.

>> Hygiene should be ensured in all educational institutions (madrasas, pre-primary, secondary, higher secondary, including educational institutions, universities) and coaching centers.

>> In all health care institutions, service recipients, service providers and health workers should ensure proper hygiene by covering their noses and faces properly and wearing masks.

>> Those who have not yet taken the corona vaccine, they have to go to the vaccination center and take the first and second dose

>> Isolation of corona patients with corona symptoms / symptoms and confirmation of quarantine arrangements for others who come in close contact with Covid-19 patients.

>> A person with symptoms of Covid should be kept in isolation and his / her sample should be assisted in coordination with the local authorities for testing.

>> Make sure to wear a mask to cover your nose and face during office entry and stay; It is necessary to ensure the compliance of everyone's health rules.

>> Even if you are vaccinated, you must wear a mask when you go out.

>> Miking and publicity can be carried out at the community level to create awareness about hygiene compliance including mask removal. In this case mosque / temple / church / pagoda mike can be used if required and elected public representatives including members of ward councilor / union council can be involved.
