Corona virus has turned into a super spreader in West Bengal.

According to a bulletin released by the West Bengal Health Department on Friday (January 7), 18,213 people were newly infected in the state in one day. Half of it is in Kolkata alone. 7 thousand 484 people were infected in one day in the city. After that, in North 24 Parganas where three thousand 118 people have been newly infected in that district. In the last 24 hours, 18 people have died in Covid in the state. Of these, 7 died in Kolkata and 3 in North 24 Parganas. On this day, about 70,000 Covid samples have been tested in the state.

Meanwhile, Gangasagar Mela is going to be held in West Bengal. In this situation, fears have spread in various quarters including the doctors. Like last year's Kumva Mela in Haridwar, this Sagar Mela in West Bengal also became a super spreader!

Delhi and Maharashtra have canceled Christmas and New Year festivities due to the Corona infection situation in India. But the West Bengal government did not. Since then, Mamata's role has been criticized. Many are also saying that it is the Bengali who has paid the price of vote bank politics. In India, the state government has not canceled the Christmas festivities in anticipation of the forthcoming Assembly polls in Goa.

Similarly, the ruling party of West Bengal has taken the preparations for the Gangasagar Mela ahead of the forthcoming Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh. Because 80 percent of the blessing seekers attend the fair from different states of Northern India, including Uttar Pradesh. The West Bengal government, however, has repeatedly said that the Sagar Mela will be held in compliance with all the rules and regulations. Incidentally, the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal is pushing hard in Uttar Pradesh and Goa. As a result, the people of Bengal do not have to count the cost? This is the question facing the people of the state now.
