The eye-catching flower tulip of winter-prone country is now being cultivated in Gadkhali of Jashore, famous for its flower capital. Ismail Hossain, a florist from Gadkhali, has been able to grow tulips with intensive care due to the recent cold weather. According to the Department of Agricultural Extension, this cultivation has created the possibility of commercial cultivation of tulips from the flower kingdom for the first time.

This flower is always seen in winter major countries. However, even though it has not been seen in the summer country so far, Ismail Hossain has made it possible recently. The dazzling tulips of colorful colors have been swaying in his garden since the second week of January this year. Visitors from far and wide are flocking to see it every day. They are enjoying the beauty of the tulip flower as a symbol of mind-blowing beauty.

Shiuli Begum, a visitor who came to see the flower, said, "This flower has blossomed for the first time in our country." So we came to see with interest. Hundreds of people are coming every day to see this fascinating new flower.

Regarding the cultivation of tulips, flower grower Ismail Hossain said, "Although I started cultivating tulips experimentally at first, now I am trying to start commercially." However, even though the flowers bloom in this country, there is no system to preserve the seeds of the tulip tree for later planting. The bulbs have to be stored at a certain temperature. So it is a big limitation of tulip cultivation. Research is underway to develop varieties of tulips for commercial cultivation in keeping with the climate of Bangladesh. We hope that this experiment will be successful and will play a significant role in the tourism industry. With this flower cultivation, I hope that the flower kingdom of Gadkhali will become a part of the Netherlands.

Masud Hossain Palash, an agronomist of Jhikargachha Agriculture Department, told Barta24 about the cultivation of tulip flowers. So that they can benefit by cultivating flowers commercially. It costs a lot of money to bring foreign flower bulbs. Therefore, necessary assistance is being provided to increase the production of this flower in the country.

In the flower kingdom, tulips have been planted experimentally in only 5 acres of land. Flowers begin to appear about a month after planting. Many did not even imagine that foreign flowers would be cultivated in this region. People from different areas are coming to see this flower. If the flower is sold commercially, it will be cultivated in more lands in future, said the concerned.

Ruhul Kabir, Project Director, Department of Agricultural Extension, Greater Kushtia and Jashore Region Agriculture Development Project, visited the tulip exhibition and said, "We have started experimental tulip cultivation in Gadkhali under Greater Kushtia and Jashore Region Agriculture Development Project." In the first phase, we have achieved the expected success. I will do my best to cultivate this crop on a larger scale in this region in future. Jhikargachha Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Mofizur Rahman, Ardhendu Pare and other officials of the Agriculture Department were present at the time.
