Amar Ekushey Book Fair will start from February 15. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the book fair on the same day at 3 pm virtually. However, even though the book fair starts on February 15, it has not been decided yet how long it will last.
This information was confirmed by Bangla Academy on Thursday (February 3). The date of allotment of stalls in the fair will be announced in the next two days.
Earlier, the Bangla Academy had offered to hold Amar Ekushey Book Fair conditionally from February 15 to March 16. It has been proposed to organize a book fair from February 15 to March 17 on the condition of observance of health rules and vaccination.
The proposal was adopted at a meeting of the Bangla Academy Book Fair Organizing Committee on Tuesday (February 1). It was then sent to the Ministry of Culture in the form of a proposal.
Earlier, the book fair was scheduled to start on February 1, but it was postponed for two weeks on January 16.
