The cover page of a new book titled ‘Barnay Shabday Chitray Faridpur’ authored by Dr. Mohammad Ali Khan, a retired senior civil servant and researcher was unwrapped this morning here at the premises of Government Teachers Training College(TTC) premises on Friday (Today) morning.
Deputy Commissioner(DC) of Faridpur Atul Sarkar attended this colorful function as the chief guest. Among others Additional Police Super Sumon Ranjan Sarkar, researcher Dr. Masum Reza, Principal of TTC Begum Khurshid Solaiman Poly, educationist Prof. Md. Shahjahan, Bangladesh Bird Society researcher Enamul Haque, social activist Prof. MA Samad and few more educationists were present.
DC Atul Sarkar said the venture of Dr. Mohammad Ali Khan is unique because there is no such book till now on Faridpur since Sultanate days to present days. He thanked the author who is not an inhabitant of this district compiled some rare documents in the book. DC Atul added that this book’s printing, binding and some rare photographs of politicians, poets and writers would help the future researchers in writing books on Faridpur.
The 640 page book has 14 chapters the first chapter being on ‘Faridpure Bangbandhu’. This chapter contains some important speeches of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with some rare photographs of Bangabandhu.
The second chapter has been written on national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam with some of his memorable pictures of the poet and his activities. The book represents the social, political, cultural and economic conditions of Faridpur vividly since pre-Muslim era, British days and Pakistan days.
Dr. Mohammad Ali Khan who was born in Gopalganj district has so far authored 66 books. He entered the civil service in 1982 taking part in regular BCS examination. He retired as an Additional Secretary.
