In this situation, the government organization Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will show surprise to give benefits to the marginalized people in the coming Ramadan. For this, the list of more than 38 lakh grassroots people who received the Prime Minister's cash gift in last Eid will be used. Last time they got Tk. 2,500 through mobile financial service.
According to the Ministry of Commerce, the Prime Minister's Office has instructed the TCB to reach the marginal stage using the data of this data bank. The TCB, under the supervision of the Ministry of Commerce, is working to ensure that more than 38 lakh low-income people on the list received this discounted product.
It is learned that on the occasion of Ramadan on February 1, a meeting of the higher authorities of the government was held at the Ministry of Commerce regarding the implementation of TCB's plans and strategies. The meeting was held at the ministry under the chairmanship of Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh. The Senior Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office Tofazel Hossain Mia including Deputy Commissioners of 10 districts of the country were present in the virtual meeting.
According to meeting sources, it was decided at the meeting that the database of 38.5 lakh low-income people created during the Corona period would be used as a beneficiary list in the distribution of TCB goods. In addition, TCB will send a proposal on the amount of products that will be required for those families to be given TCB products at least twice during Ramadan. At the same time, all the DCs have been asked to ensure that the goods reach the designated warehouse 15 days ahead from the warehouse of TCB.
In this regard, the government's commercial organization TCB Chairman Brigadier General Ariful Hasan told the media that TCB has made all kinds of preparations ahead of the upcoming Ramadan. In the meantime, several products have arrived. In addition, some products are on the way.
