Foreign Minister and Member of Parliament from Sylhet-1 Constituency Dr. AK Abdul Momen said that the next national Jatiyo Sangsad(JS) election will be a very good election. There is peace and stability in the country because the Awami League is in the government. The country has seen great development in the last 14 and half years. Sheikh Hasina's government is needed again and again to maintain its momentum or continuity.
The minister said that due to its geographical location and development, Bangladesh is also gaining more importance to foreigners. Because of this, we have fallen into a global mess.
The minister said this in response to questions from journalists after the inauguration of 12 development projects of Sylhet Sadar Upazila Parishad on Friday (August 11) morning.
He said, "A group and their expatriate associates are spreading false propaganda to foreigners about Bangladesh." Pointing to Tariq Rahman, the minister pointed out that Awami League does not want money laundering abroad and said, "Many have been living abroad for years."
Newly elected Mayor of Sylhet City Corporation Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury, Sylhet District Awami League President Shafikur Rahman Chowdhury, Sylhet Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Ashfaq Ahmad and others were present in the event.
