Jatiya Party Chairman and Deputy Leader of the Opposition GM Quader MP said that in the country now one's word is the law, whatever one says is legal. If no one says it, it is as if one has committed a punishable crime, so one's decision is now the verdict.

He made this comment in an exchange of views with a delegation of the Dhaka Ahsaniya Mission at Banani office in JP on Saturday (August 12).

He also said that we have fallen into such a reality. To avoid this, governance must be changed. The political culture has to change. If you can't change politics, nothing will change.

Foreigners are being given a bad name these days. The government is saying that foreigners are talking about democracy and voting for bad purposes. These words have no meaning. Foreigners are speaking for the people, they want something better. Foreigners have given us vaccines for various diseases. Again, they are also implementing vaccination programs with money. Americans gave 10 crore free vaccines during Corona. The situation is like this, we will only loot and foreigners will see our countrymen.

He said there is a strong cycle with the drug trade. They are bound to implement existing laws. Drugs are not under control, but increasing alarmingly. Every village has drugs, every family has drug addicts. There are allegations that there is a huge amount of profit in the drug trade which is being shared between the ruling party leaders, police and related parties. So drugs are not being controlled. Those who are helping the spread of drugs for the sake of money, one day their families will be destroyed by drugs.

Ganja is now being sold in the name of cigarettes. There have been many extrajudicial killings in the country in the name of crossfire but the spread of drugs has not decreased at all. Tobacco control requires ensuring alternative occupations for workers involved in tobacco products.

He said that there is no other country like Bangladesh that neglects road safety. Here too there are allegations that the government party, the police-administration, receives a huge sum of money. Many transport owners said that 5 show tickets have to be sold for Tk. 1000. This huge amount of money is being taken from the common people just to pay the subscription. They stand in the way of implementing the law. There is a saying; a problem that has no solution is not considered a problem.

Jatiya Party Chairman's Press Secretary-2 Khandaker Delwar Jalali, Coordinator of Dhaka Ahsania Mission Youth Forum for Health and Welfare Marzana Muntaha, Member Shahriar Hossain, Coordinator of Dhaka Ahsania Mission Road Safety Project Sharmin Rahman, Advocacy Officer Tasnim Mehbub Bandhan, Tariqul Islam and Tobacco Control Project Media Manager Al Tanveer Nawaz, Program Officer Adut Rahman and others were present.
