Government organization Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) is starting the sale of goods at fair prices.

From Sunday (August 13) as part of the monthly program, buyers can buy daily essential products at subsidized prices. However, this is the first time that TCB goods do not contain sugar.

TCB informed this information in a press release.

TCB said, under the overall guidance of the Ministry of Commerce, on the initiative of the Prime Minister, the sale of TCB's goods (edible oil and pulses) at affordable prices is ongoing among 1 crore low-income beneficiary card-holder families. From July, rice is being sold at subsidized prices from Food Department's OMS (Open Market Sale) along with TCB goods among 1 crore beneficiary card holder families. The painful August-23 month sale is starting from Sunday across the country including Dhaka Metropolis.

On the other hand, cardholders are getting OMS rice along with TCB products from last month. However, sugar is not included in the sale of August. Cardholder families will get five kg of rice every month along with TCB products at the rate of Tk. 30 per kg. Card holders can buy rice and other products from distributors' shops or designated places in their respective areas.

Besides rice, a customer can buy two liters of soybean oil at Tk. 100 per liter and two kg of lentils at Tk. 60 per liter.
