Independent candidate AK Azad commented that Awami League candidate Shamim Haque is obstructing fair elections in Faridpur-3 seat.
AK Azad said these things in a press conference at his residence on Saturday (January 6).
He said that Shamim Haque is obstructing the fair elections which started from last December 18. Despite 5 cases and 14 GDs, no effective initiative by the administration was seen except for two. The supporters of Shamim Haque are beating and attacking my activists every night, alleged Eagle symbol candidate.
AK Azad said that taking the voters to the polling station is the aim of the Eagle supporters; on the other hand Shamim Haque is preventing the voters from going to the polling station by creating fear among the voters.
He said that the supporters of the boat candidate are trying to harass our leaders and activists by setting fire to their own camp at the last moment.
AK Azad said that before the polls tomorrow, as attack cases are being filed against the activists, there is fear that the voters will go to the polling stations tomorrow. While the government is committed to holding fair, free and impartial elections, the administration here is doing just the opposite. The administration is working completely single-mindedly.
He also said that despite seeing boat supporters with petrol bombs, the administration is harassing Eagle supporters.
