Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal said that he was not concerned about voter attendance, saying, "My responsibility is to organize the polls." It is not my responsibility who comes to vote and who doesn't.

He said this while talking to reporters after voting at Habibullah Bahar College center in Shantinagar, Dhaka on Sunday (January 7) at 8:38 am.

He said, I don't know anything about voter turnout. I came and cast my vote.

Asked if voter turnout would be reduced due to fear of violence, the CEC said, "I am not thinking about it." My responsibility is to organize the polls. Who will come to vote, who will not come. Whether there will be violence or not, it will be seen by law and order forces.

Qazi Habibul Awal told reporters, I have just cast my vote. Voting has started today, it feels good. After five years, this vote of the JS is done with everyone's concerted efforts and cooperation. You (journalists) are helping us.

He said, I would request you to show the visibility and transparency of voting as much as possible. If there is any mistrust among people about voting, let that mistrust gradually disappear.
