Dhaka: Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul said that the July massacre trial will be completed before December 16 and that victory will be celebrated by completing the trial.

He said this at the National Dialogue on Reforms at the Krishibid Institute in the capital on Saturday (December 28). The dialogue is continuing for the second day on the challenges of the trial of the disappearances and murders during the Sheikh Hasina era and the July-August massacre.

Asif Nazrul said that those involved in the BDR carnage and the Hefazat murders, as well as those involved in the disappearances and murders, will also be tried. The law department will try these. There will be no negligence.

He said that the Home Affairs Advisor will be asked why scoundrels like Hasan Mahmud and Obaidul Quader, ministers of the previous Awami League government, fled.

He also said that with Sheikh Hasina fleeing, the Public Prosecutors (PPs) also fled. PPs have sent information on missing person’s cases from 51 districts.

The leaders of the anti-discrimination movement spoke at the beginning of the discussion. They demanded justice for all the murders and disappearances that have occurred in the country in the last 16 years, including the BDR murders. At this time, the general secretary of Islami Chhatra Shibir alleged that the Hasina government's culture of disappearances began with the disappearance of two students of the Islamic University.
