Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has said that there is no secrecy about BGB Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui's visit to India.
This information was given on the BGB's verified Facebook page late on Friday (January 24).
The post stated that after some media outlets in the country published news titled 'BGB chief's visit to India confidential, storm of criticism on social media', the BGB has informed that such news in some media outlets is tarnishing the image of the border guarding force and also creating confusion in the public mind.
It further stated that on December 27, a post was made on the BGB's own verified Facebook page stating that a BGB-BSF Director General-level border conference would be held in India in mid-February. News was also published in the country's media based on this Facebook post. In addition, the conference was mentioned in multiple press briefings by the Home and Foreign Ministries. Moreover, at a time when the BGB is currently playing a role in solidarity with the people at the border, there is a possibility that such negative posts will create confusion in everyone's minds.
