Customs to play a leading role in strengthening the foundation of the economy

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has expressed his expectation that Bangladesh Customs will play a leading role in strengthening and strengthening the foundation of the country's economy and creating a rich revenue reserve.

He expressed this expectation in a message given on the occasion of 'International Customs Day' on Sunday (January 26).

The day is being celebrated under the theme "Commitment in Customs Service, Efficiency, Security, Progress".

The Chief Adviser said, 'In building a changed Bangladesh, I think Bangladesh Customs will restore the momentum of the country's economy by facilitating import and export and ensuring safe supply of goods.'

He also said, 'In the current global, political and economic context, I think that the skilled manpower of Bangladesh Customs will ensure rapid inspection, customs clearance and clearance of import and export goods in a technology-based manner. As a result, the supply chain of goods will be well-organized and the dynamism of the country's economy will be ensured.'

He welcomed the initiative of the National Board of Revenue to celebrate International Customs Day-2025 in Bangladesh, like other countries in the world.

Professor Muhammad Yunus, expressing his sincere greetings to all concerned, including the officers and employees, service recipients and partners of Bangladesh Customs, said that Bangladesh Customs has a unique role in continuing the country's economic activities, including expanding international trade, increasing foreign investment, protecting domestic industries and markets.
