Former US Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Henry Kissinger has died. He was 100 years old at the time of his death. He died on Wednesday (November 29) local time.

The British media BBC reported this information in a report on Thursday (November 30).

Kissinger Associates, the political consulting firm Kissinger founded, confirmed his death, according to reports. The former diplomat of German origin died at his home in Connecticut on Wednesday local time.

Henry Kissinger passed his centenary in May this year. But still he was active in various activities. He attended meetings at the White House, published a book on leadership styles, and testified before a Senate committee on the nuclear threat posed by North Korea.

And in July 2023, he went to Beijing on a surprise visit to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping.

While serving as Secretary of State and Security Advisor under Republican President Richard Nixon in the 1970s, he had a hand in many epoch-changing global events of the time.

His efforts led to the establishment of diplomatic relations with China, US-Soviet arms control talks, expanded relations between Israel and its Arab neighbors and the Paris Peace Accords with North Vietnam.

After Nixon's resignation in 1974, Kissinger's reign as the chief architect of US foreign policy waned. Still, he served as a diplomatic force under President Gerald Ford and continued to express strong opinions on diplomatic issues throughout his life.

Notably, Henry Kissinger celebrated his centenary on May 27. He is the only official in US history to serve as both Secretary of State and National Security Advisor to the President.

He is also considered a forerunner of American diplomacy. His pragmatic approach to foreign policy became very important in Washington's policy in the 1970s in the wider world reality of the time.

Meanwhile, in 1973, Kissinger was widely criticized as he termed Independent Bangladesh as "bottomless basket". Henry Kissinger was unhappy with Indira Gandhi for taking a stand for the independence of Bangladesh. He even made obscene comments about Indira Gandhi. However, he later apologized for his comments.

Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, is accused of more than 150 criminal and civil cases. He is now in jail after being sentenced in multiple cases.

In this situation, a new government has been formed after the general election of the country. Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party called the government a 'coalition of losers', the BBC reported.

Even though Imran Khan is in jail, independent candidates who supported his party in the last February 8 elections have shown surprise. The way Imran campaigned using technology to win elections proved that he is the most popular politician. He is now also the most famous prisoner in the country, number 804.

Before the elections, this number became one of the campaign slogans of pro-PTI candidates. This means that Imran's popularity has been fully utilized by the party's leaders and activists. For this, the role of a group of leaders and activists with information technology knowledge is also significant.

Because, they were the ones who spread the speech of Prisoner Imran in the election campaign using artificial intelligence (AI). WhatsApp groups and websites were opened. Through this, they made Khan's speech artificially and delivered him to crores of voters, especially to the youth.

They took the benefits of it home. But PTI alleged that it was not possible to reap the full benefits due to widespread fraud in the polls.

Analysts are calling Pakistan's new government, which took office on Sunday (March 3) with Shehbaz Sharif as prime minister, shaky.

The recent elections were supposed to bring stability, writes Pakistani writer and journalist Mohammad Hanif. It was much needed to combat inflation and bitter political divisions in the country. But, it was replaced by a minority government, which is not strong at all. Those who joined were reluctant to join.

Imran's supporters campaigned in guerilla style in this election. Despite the obstacles, they were so strong in the polls that it became difficult to contain them through rigging.

Voter response to the Army's tactics in the election was unprecedented. They said, 'We are not as stupid as you think we are. We have the ballot in hand.

Most of Pakistan's politicians have been in jail at one point or another. But no one seems to have had more fun than Imran Khan because he won the election from prison.

On the other hand, he had to play with the tactics of the army as well. The army wanted to convey that Imran Khan and his party were finished. But, that strategy also failed because, before the election, the party organized a team of second-tier leaders and local loyalists to campaign for the victory of the embattled party.

They were sure that their leader would not be allowed to return to power. But they have shown through voting that they did not leave Imran despite the pressure of the army.

After Imran Khan's ouster, he vented his anger not only at his political opponents but also at the army. This also increased his popularity.

PTI supporters have decided to join the opposition. But, Imran Khan prefers to play his politics not in Parliament, but on the streets, public meetings and social media. PTI is terming the new government as a 'coalition of losers'. In fact, it is a coalition of parties that were individually defeated by Imran in the elections.

Many feel that Imran has become a more mature politician in prison.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) President and former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has become the new Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Pakistani media Dawn reported that Shehbaz Sharif was elected as the 24th Prime Minister of Pakistan by getting 201 votes in the National Assembly election on Sunday (March 3). And his nearest rival Omar Ayub Khan of PTI got 92 votes.

In April 2022, the coalition government led by Imran Khan's PTI was ousted by the opposition in the National Assembly, the lower house of Pakistan's parliament. Prime Minister Imran resigned. After that, the opposition formed a coalition government in the country under the leadership of Shehbaz Sharif.

PML-N gets the second highest number of seats. Pakistan People's Party (PPP) was ranked third. ML-N and PPP decided to form a coalition government in alliance.

Apart from the PPP, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and Inteqam-e-Pakistan Party supported Shehbaz Sharif for the post of Prime Minister. The Sunni Ittehad Council is supporting PTI leader Omar Ayub Khan.

Israel has conditionally accepted the ceasefire agreement with the Palestinian independence movement Hamas. A senior US official said on Saturday (March 2). Meanwhile, the United States has started dropping relief supplies from the air in war-torn Gaza.

On Sunday (March 3), Qatar-based media Al Jazeera reported this information.

According to the report, the senior US official said that Israel has more or less accepted the ceasefire agreement with Hamas. Now the rest depends on the decision of Hamas.

According to the US administration, the six-week ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas will come into effect soon. But its implementation will begin only after the organization agrees to release the most vulnerable hostages held by Hamas and signs the deal.

The cease-fire announcement came hours after a US military cargo plane dropped humanitarian aid into besieged Gaza.

According to the US Central Command, the relief materials that have been given since Saturday include 38,000 packets of food that will ensure the necessary assistance to civilians affected by the ongoing war.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Security Council expressed deep concern about the food crisis in Gaza in a statement on Saturday and called for continuous food aid there.
