The Chief Adviser of the Interim government Muhammad Yunus sat in a meeting with the President of the United States, Joe Biden. Joe Biden expressed full support for the interim government in this meeting.

They held a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on Tuesday (September 24).

According to the notification, US President Joe Biden has expressed "full support" to the Bangladesh government. In the meeting, the US President assured to stand by the Bangladesh government with any help.

In the meeting Dr. Yunus told Joe Biden about the courageous role of students against all kinds of oppression during the previous government and their important contribution in the reconstruction of Bangladesh.

Professor Dr. Yunus emphasized that his government must succeed in rebuilding the country. Meanwhile, US President Biden assured to stand by the Bangladesh government with any help.

At that time, American President Joe Biden said, "If students can sacrifice so much for their country, we should do more."

During the meeting, Dr. Yunus handed over to Biden a copy of The Art of Triumph, a book of murals painted by students and young students during the revolution.

Earlier, at 8 a.m. local time in New York, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Dr. Yunus attended the reception organized by the Secretary General to welcome the world leaders attending the 79th session. The reception was organized at the North Representative Lounge of the UN Headquarters.
