Tata Group's Ratan Tata has passed away
Ratan Tata, the head of India's largest conglomerate Tata Sons, has died. He was 86 years old at the time of his death.
On Thursday (October 10), Indian media NDTV reported this information.
The media confirmed the news of the death citing the current chairman of the group, Chandrasekhar.
Besides, the report also mentioned that Ratan Tata was admitted to the hospital last Monday (October 7) due to old age complications. He breathed his last today(October 10)in the hospital.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the death of Ratan Tata.
Apart from this, Rahul Gandhi, Gautam Adani also paid their condolences to Ratan Tata.
It is to be noted that Ratan Tata was born on December 28, 1937 in a Persian family in Mumbai. Later the Tata family adopted him from there. He took charge of Tata Group only at the age of 21 years. After that the group's revenue increased 40 times and profit increased 50 times. Ratan Tata left the executive power of the Tata Group in 2012 at the age of 75.
Ratan Tata was awarded 'Padma Bhushan' in 2000. Received 'Padma Vibhushan Honor' in 2008. The Government of Maharashtra, Assam also honored him. Besides, he was honored by the University of Cambridge, London School of Economics, IIT Bombay, Yale University, Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III.
