More than fifty vehicles have been set on fire: Police

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said that more than half a hundred vehicles were set on fire during the clash. Apart from this, police boxes were set on fire at various places. DMP has given an account of where and when clashes, vandalism and arson took place in the capital on Saturday.
According to information given by DMP, a bus named Baishakhi Paribahan was set on fire on Saturday morning at 11:20 am opposite to Ramna Park on the road in front of NSI barracks.
BNP leaders-activists vandalized a Gazipur Paribahan bus in Kakrail at 12:30.
According to the DMP, BNP leaders and activists started throwing stones at the policemen in front of Kakrail Church around 1 am. After that, the leaders-activists chased each other with the police. Police also fired sound grenades and tear gas to control the situation.
Two vehicles were set on fire on the ground floor of the IDEB building in Kakrail around 1:30 pm. Police box in front of Kakrail Judges Complex was set on fire. The gate of the Chief Justice's residence was vandalized and stone pelted.
The vandalizers threw bricks and broke windows at Judges Complex. Fire service members brought the fire under control at 1:35 p.m. Then at 2:10 p.m. police box was set on fire at Kakrail intersection.
Two more cars and a motorcycle were set on fire in Bijayanagar under the IDEB building around 3 am. Two cabin vehicles of DMP were set on fire in front of Deaf High School in Bijayanagar.
According to DMP, four shops were vandalized and four shops were set on fire at Shantinagar intersection at 3:15 pm. At the same time Shantinagar police box was also set on fire. In addition to seven police motorcycles, a container was set on fire at Shantinagar junction.
The police said that the Fakirapool police box was set on fire at 3:20 p.m. Shortly after this incident, three ambulances, three jeeps, one ICU ambulance and 9 vehicles and 25 motorcycles were set on fire in the parking area of the police hospital. At the same time, 7 police motorcycles kept outside the police hospital were also set on fire.
At 3.40 pm Malibag Mor police box and a garbage truck of City Corporation were set on fire. At that time tires were burnt in front of Motijheel Government Boys High School. 10 vans and rickshaws were set on fire in front of Mirza Abbas' house in Rajarbagh.
Around 4 pm, banners hanging at Mouchak intersection and Mouchak police box were set on fire. A pickup was set on fire on the sidewalk opposite the Divisional Commissioner's office on Pioneer Road. At the same time, a motorcycle was set on fire in front of Segunbagicha raw market.

A shack shop on the footpath next to Community Bank at Dainik Bangla intersection and a Midland Paribahan bus in front of Khidmah Hospital and a Basumati Paribahan bus were set ablaze in front of the Police Convention Hall.
Two buses were set on fire in Kamalapur around half past six. One is Asia and the other is S. Alam Paribahan. At the same time, a bus called Trust Paribahan was set on fire in Mirpur's Kalshi.
