Process of handing over 330 Myanmar border guards begins

The process of handing over 330 people who entered Bangladesh including border guards, army, customs officials who fled from Myanmar in fear of their lives in the face of the insurgent group Arakan Army's attack, is in the process of handing over to the Myanmar authorities.

The handover process starts on Thursday (February 15) morning at the Inani Navy Jetty in Cox's Bazar.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Public Relations Officer Shariful Islam confirmed the matter to the media.

He said, under the supervision of the BGB, the Myanmar nationals including members of the Border Guard Police (BGP) will be handed over to the country's authorities at 8 am on Thursday through the Inani naval jetty in Cox's Bazar district.

Earlier on Tuesday, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that members of the security forces will be sent back to Myanmar soon.
