Dhaka: Adviser on Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Nahid Islam said journalists who supported genocide in the anti-discrimination student movement will be prosecuted.

On Sunday (October 13) afternoon, Nahid Islam and Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, two advisers of the interim government, visited the patients admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). He said this while talking to reporters.

When asked about the case against journalists, Nahid said that those who were directly associated with the fascist government, were instigators and supported the genocide will be brought to justice. Apart from this, a committee has been formed in the Ministry of Information to look into any case against someone unfairly.

He also said that if any journalist or his family feels that they are suffering through the case, then we will help them if they contact us.

Regarding the case of injured and killed, he said that a legal team is working in this regard. We will complete this trial in the Special Tribunal. Those who were martyred and injured in the uprising are the heroes of the country. We recognize the sacrifice of the leaders and activists of various parties who gave their lives in the movement.

Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, when asked by the journalists that cases are being filed against the agitators in various places, said that instructions will be issued soon from the Ministry of Home Affairs so that no action is taken against the agitators anywhere. No matter how powerful the policemen involved in the killing of the protestors are, they will not be spared
