Kawsar, a student injured in the movement, succumbed to death
Dhaka: Kawsar Mahmud, who was injured in the anti-discrimination student movement, died after being under treatment for two months.
On Sunday (October 13) at around 10:30 PM, Kawsar Mahmud passed away while undergoing treatment at Dhaka's Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
Kawsar is the son of Abdul Motaleb of Bhatra Union of Ramganj Upazila of Lakshipur District. Abdul Motaleb has been living with his family at Chattogram Commerce College Road in Motaleb Nagar for a long time.
He has a grocery store in Mughaltuli. Son Kawsar Mahmood was a BBA student of BGC Trust University.
Kawsar Mahmud's father Abdul Motaleb told the media that Kawsar Mahmud died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka's CMH Hospital around 10:30 pm on Sunday. His Janaza will be held at Central Shaheed Minar on Monday around 12:30-12:30 PM.
From there the body will be taken to Chattogram. Another Janaza will be held there on Monday night at Abdur Rahman Matbar Jame Masjid. After the Janaza, he will be buried in the graveyard next to the mosque.
Kawsar Mahmud, a student who was shot and injured during the anti-discrimination student movement in Newmarket area of Kotwali police station of the city, was initially admitted to Agrabad Islami Hospital. As his condition deteriorated there, he was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the same hospital.
Later, on September 22, the injured student Kawshar Mahmud was transferred to the ICU of Chattogram Medical College Hospital for better treatment. Chattogram Medical College authorities informed Chattogram Cantonment when his physical condition deteriorated again while in ICU.
On September 28, it was reported through a post on the official page of the Bangladesh Army on social media that Kawsar Mahmud, a student who was shot in the anti-discrimination student movement while undergoing treatment, was transferred to Chattogram CMH the day before when his condition was critical.
Later, he was shifted to Dhaka CMH on September 28 for advanced treatment by Army Aviation helicopter under the overall management of 24 Infantry Division in collaboration with Chattogram CMH.
In a press release sent by the Central Sub-Committee on Health Affairs of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement on Sunday night, Kawsar Mahmud, a fourth-year student of Chattogram BGC Trust University, participated in the July movement on the call of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. He was shot by the law and order forces during the violent movement. After fighting for a long time, Kawsar Mahmud was martyred while undergoing treatment at CMH in Dhaka.
