If the Awami League is not banned there is no obstacle to participate in the elections: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin said that the Awami League has been a registered party since 1972. There is no obstacle to the party participating in the elections unless the court and the government ban it.

He said this at a meeting with the election officers of the division at the Chattagram Circuit House on Monday (December 30) morning.

The CEC said that the Election Commission is completely independent, there is no pressure on the commission. The commission will take all kinds of measures to conduct fair elections.

Stating that the commission will take all kinds of measures to conduct fair elections in the coming elections, the CEC said that the voter list will be updated within the next six months. This time, there will be no voting like before. National unity has been created regarding voting after August 5. Elections like '91, '96 will be held.

He also said that while working, we saw that there were fake voters. Moreover, many have died. But the list of those who died has not been finalized. When someone dies, their relatives do not come to delete their names from the voter list. This opportunity was taken in the past elections.

Stating that there are fewer female voters than male voters, CEC Nasir sought the cooperation of the media and said, "You need to campaign to increase female voters. Motivate women."
